The V&A Waterfront’s annual New Year’s Eve bash has become somewhat of an iconic event in the Mother City. Old and young will be dazzled by street performers, dancers, live music and a stunning firework display at midnight. Arrive hungry to enjoy the best of Cape Town’s food trucks that will be offering all sorts of delicious treats to celebrate the new year.

Sing in the new year at Kirstenbosch

Celebrate the end of another year in an idyllic setting of starry skies and rolling lawns at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Pack a blanket, snacks and a bottle of bubbly and get ready to sing and dance the night away with singer-songwriter Jeremy Loops and blues band Crimson House. Don’t forget your picnic basket!

On New Year’s Eve, Cape Point Vineyards in Noordhoek will transform into a giant disco for the highly anticipated Grand South NYE 2018 event. DJ René (better known as “The Frenchman” in music circles) will keep you on your feet the whole night. Considering the disco theme, you’d better come dressed to impress!

Toast the last sunset of 2018 at the top of Klapmutskop

Hike through the heart of the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy and through part of a yellowwood forest to reach the top of the Klapmutskop in the Stellenbosch wine region. At the top of the hill, you won’t only be greeted by panoramic views of the winelands and Table Mountain, but there will also be a glass of bubbly waiting for you. Depending on your fitness level, you can hike the entire 9.75km route, or choose to hop on a farm vehicle and only hike 4.5km each way.
